Department Overview
The Department of Peace Management Studies at the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti, is committed to promoting peace, security, and sustainable development through education, research, and community engagement. The Department provides a multidisciplinary approach to understanding conflict dynamics, peacebuilding strategies, and security management in local and global contexts. It aims to produce graduates who are equipped to prevent, manage, and resolve conflicts while fostering social justice and harmony.

The Department integrates theoretical knowledge with practical skills in negotiation, mediation, and policy analysis. Students engage in coursework, simulations, fieldwork, and research projects that prepare them for leadership roles in peacebuilding, governance, and humanitarian interventions.

Admission Requirements

  • UTME Entry: Candidates must possess at least five (5) credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Government or History, and two other relevant subjects at SSCE/GCE/NECO level, obtained in not more than two sittings. UTME subjects typically include English Language, Government, Economics, and any other relevant subject.
  • Direct Entry: Applicants must possess two (2) A-Level passes in Government, History, or related subjects. Candidates with OND, NCE, or HND in relevant disciplines with at least Upper Credit may be considered for admission into 200 or 300 level, depending on qualifications.
